Asafoetida is dried gum collected from a plant which commonly found in Afganistan. India generally imports asafoetida from the source, and it is used after blending with different ingredients.In India Asafoetida is used especially in seasonings (tadaka) while preparing food. It also adds aoma and flavor to food which further makes food tasty & appetizing. In south India Asafoetida is used in preparation of many recipes such as Sambar, Rasam, Pickle and Pulychore etc.
